E627 - Disodium guanylate
By the Daat team · Updated October 30, 2026
E627 is a flavour enhancer that usually works alongside MSG. Its source can be yeast or fish and meat.
It is rarely used on its own. Together with E621 it boosts flavour far more than either does alone, so you will see both in crisps, instant noodles and soup powders. The label does not say which source it came from.
In Daat’s catalog we found E627 in 182 of 16,831 products (1.1%), mostly in savoury snacks and meat products.
